The Saints search for cornerback help will continue when the team works out Delvin Breaux on Friday.
A New Orleans native, the 6-foot-1 Breaux has been with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League since 2013. He intercepted one pass and returned it for a touchdown last year. He also recovered a fumble and recorded 33 tackles.
Breaux suffered a neck injury while playing for McDonogh 35 Senior High School in 2006. The injury kept him sidelined until hooking on with the Louisiana Bayou Vipers, a semi-pro team in Hammond, in 2012. He finished the year with five interceptions, and then briefly hooked on with the New Orleans VooDoo.
In a recent interview with The Advocate, Breaux said many of the teams he’s visiting with or will visit with want to see if he is healthy. The Saints were scheduled to put him through a physical on Thursday.
Breaux has met with or is scheduled to meet with more than a dozen teams.
