Headlining the InstantScouting 2018 Elite Class: D2 – Running Backs is Senior Marcus Jones of Gannon University.

Jones was named the NCAA Division II Preseason National Offensive Player of the Year by national publication Lindy’s Sports that hit national newsstands in June as well as being selected to the Lindy’s Sports Preseason All-America first team and named a Preseason All-American in the 2018 Street & Smith’s College Football magazine that hit national newsstands in May. The senior ranks third all-time at Gannon in career points (210), fifth in 100-yard rushing games (11), sixth in career rushing yards (2,631), 10th in career all-purpose yards (3,069) and 12th in total offense (2,631) despite playing only two seasons and needs 704 yards to break Gannon Hall of Famer Sterling Pierce’s school rushing record. Jones can break Pierce’s school record for career 100-yard rushing games with five more.

Rushed for over 1000 yards at East Stroudsburg University earning 1st Team All-PSAC East.

RB Andrew Lackowski, Senior, Bemidgi State, Rocklin, CA, 5’11” 200

1st team All-NSIC North selection rushed for 959 yards and 5 touchdowns as a junior.

RB Malik Pierre, Senior, LIU, Post Holbrook, NY 5’10” 200

Had over 1200 total yards (rushing and receiving) with 15 touchdowns earning All-NE10 First Team.

Running back earned All-LSC 1st Team as junior averaging 6.93 yards per carry for Midwestern State.

All-GSC 1st Team Selection rushed for over 1000 yards with a 5.3 yards per attempt average at Florida Tech.

RB Devontae Jackson, Senior, West Georgia, Marietta, GA, 5’7″ 171

Rushed for 1175 yards and had 18 receptions for 217 yards earning GSC Offensive Player of the Year.

RB Andrew Vaughn, Senior, Ashland, West Salem, OH, 5’10” 209

Rushed for over 1000 yards in spite of missing 2 games due to injury on Ashland University.

RB Kurt Scoby, Senior, Azusa Pacific, Duarte, CA, 5’8″ 180

1st Team All-GNAC rushed for nearly 1000 and 16 touchdowns at Azusa Pacific University.

Jones racked up numerous accolades such as 1st Team All-American as he rushed for 2176 yards and 29 touchdowns for Gannon University.
