Austin Hicks, WR, University of North Alabama

6’3, 230 lbs

Pros

  • Big athletic WR that can create separation with his speed and strides running
  • Transitions in and out of cuts well has consistent knee bend and explodes out of breaks
  • Adjusts his body well to position himself to make a play on the ball
  • Receives the ball all the way through, good hand eye coordination

Cons

  • Needs more consistent hand use for disengaging off the line of scrimmage
  • Can display his blocking ability more, with his size can be a difference maker blocking on the edge
  • Shows to tail off his routes when not getting the football, needs to finish and carry out routes

 

UNA 2017: Played in all 10 games with six starts as a junior…28 catches for 431 yards, a 15.4-yard average and scored four touchdowns…Long catch of 54 yards…Had three catches for 100 yards, including a 54-yard touchdown, against West Alabama…Also had TD receptions against Valdosta State, West Georgia and Shorter… TENNESSEE TECH 2016: Played in 11 games and made 13 catches for 209 yards…Averaged 19 yards per catch with a long of 42 yards…Two TD receptions with one each against Austin Peay and Murray State… TENNESSEE TECH 2015: Played in 11 games, catching 10 passes for 118 yards…Averaged 11.8 yards per catch with a long of 20 yards…Named to the Spring 2016 AD’s Honor Roll.
